Wow! This is a really big family portrait!!!
I always have an extra stress level when working on a multiple portrait, as I'm never sure if I'll achieve a perfect resemblance for all the people in it, and it would only take one not-so-great face to ruin the whole picture.
You definitely have more portraits (and family portraits) than me, so does this concern go away as you exercise more? Or did you never have such insecurities?
Amazing job, by the way! I love how naturally you positioned them to all fit in one large portrait!

This is definitely the biggest I've taken on and there were definitely nerves involved - more because of the size of the piece than the number of people in it. I'm pretty good at focusing on one portrait at a time but when it came to laying everything out you really do have to see the whole piece all at once. Definitely overwhelming!
I'm glad you like the layout! I tried to branch the family out like a family tree with the parents top center and siblings and then their children fanning out from there. It took a lot of trial and error seeing who should overlap whom.
Thanks for visiting and great work on your family portraits, too!

You were definitely brave to take the challenge of this family tree and all the efforts paid off, the result is amazing! Thanks for sharing your experience!

It was a great experience and getting to bring them all together meant a lot to the family. Great to be a part of it!

Its MEGA !!!!
What did you draw on?
I wish i had paper that big. I just use normal sketch paper.
Don't u think shading is tiring? Cause it just kills me. Haha.

Youre so awesomeeee ... ❤👏

Haha thanks! I used a Canson art board - it took me a while to research and find a surface large enough that was also similar in texture to what I usually use. And it was too big to fit on my drawing table so I rigged up two easels to balance it on. Took up a TON of space in my house lol

Shading is actually my favorite part haha. For me it's the outlining that kills me and there was so much to do on this piece

Ohhh canson is nice.
Wow easels. Those are big. And a big big board too. Well youre doing a great job.
Shading is enjoyable you know, seeing 2D become 3D. But i get tired easily haha which is bad.
Outlines? You mean the initial sketching?
Come to think of it when i draw i always feel like step one to the last step is hard. But it gets better while youre drawing.
I still neee to improve. XD
Im looking fforward to your final output!

Absolutely! The sketching and deciding where everyone was going to be placed in this piece took me over a week of a full drawing days haha. I get really into it when I get past that part. I'll have the finished piece to post in a day or so!
