Description Well, I already wrote out that journal entry about how much of an influence George Carlin has played on the way I think and on the way I look at the world. I had to do a tribute piece for someone who had such a big influence, and to celebrate his life at his passing. He was a great comedian, and a great thinker, I'm gonna miss not having somebody to make me question why mankind can be so diverse as to create a nuclear warhead... and silly putty.

I may color this, I just wanted to make sure that I did something to celebrate his life in passing before long.

Although this guy is generally for shock value, he tends to say some pretty interesting and true things. Probably the funniest was the seven words and the most true to me was when he was talking about the inequality between alien believers and religion believers.

i do believe that's because it is. anyone with a brain, regardless of beliefs can see the ruse of scientology.

It's like they were saying, "there's already zombies and angels, I know, let's put aliens in it"!

Even alien believers think scientology is a load of bullsh*t!

So I didn't really know about him until his passing, but now I wish I had. He was quite excellent. His commentary on religion is my thoughts exactly.
So Gooooooo Niles.

wow, I'm sorry you missed out on such greatness until now.
I would really suggest his specials: Carlin on Campus, Carlin at Carnegie, and What the Hell am I Doing in New Jersey.
XD
it's his earlier comedy, has less religious commentary and excessive pessimism, but more blunt yet provocative comedy.

i admire what this guy had to say, even though it was vulgur most of the time. the things he brought up in his comedy sketches, made ya look at things differently, in a narcist kinda way. its a good thing he's lived this long to leave words of wisdom among us. even though i never met the guy, his outlook on life makes me smile, while thinking, "yeah, he's got a point, we're a bunch of dumb fucks, for sure; but at least we'll die by our own hands." heh, yeah, that's a laugh. good ol' carlin, wonder if he's causing a laugh riot in hell (laughs from his bizarre imagery coming to mind).

well, i never relied much on his severe pessimism of his later years. I do agree, people as a whole are quite stupid and we will destroy ourselves, but I'm more inclined to just keep on living my way despite it than waste energy getting angry about it. I more enjoyed the way he would make you think about stuff that maybe didn't matter much, but it made you wonder what the hell went through peoples minds when they thought about what they were doing. like "why is it, that we drive on a parkway, and park on a driveway?" I like that style of thought, and that's what he inspired in me for most of my life. That and being really lax about cursing, they're just words.
