omg im planning on hopefully pitching the idea that for our prom we should do a masquerade theme...i saw this and i am amazed. its exaclty what i was thinking!

Bleh, not sure if I'd want feathers on my cake. XD The mask is fantastic, and the corner on the gold layer is beutiful, a very elegant/fun cake here.

Yep ^_^ I modeled it after one of my favorite photos by Winter and Wolf [link] In person the cake is much more gold, but unfortunately my camera doesn't cooperate with me most of the time >_<

WoW the mask looks real, infact I thought it was until I read you did it gumpast. Very impressive. The foundant is so smooth and finished, it doesn't even look a cake. I asume the feathers are real and so are the beads, but if they are then wow. The detail and the boxs is great, however I feel the red tassels could use more work. The decorationon the gold box and the corners are awesome, they just add to the overall cake. I did also notice the red rose beside the mask, the white roses are great but the red need some work the smallest rose almost look just like rolls, but the red rose on the 2nd tier a beautiful. You really show your talent.

I wanted a deeper red as well, but the owner got a brighter red table cloth and I wanted it to match.

It is made of gumpaste, which if I am correct is a little different that sugar paste, right?

Yes, It's a bit more "elastic" you can roll it thinner aswell.
