Wow, it's been a while since I've drawn anything! And so fast, too!This is my entry to the Movie Moments Contest being held at #sesskag . I saw the journal for it yesterday, immediately sketched this, and had it inked and coloured in record time! I waited until today to submit, just in case, because it specified that only drawings submitted after January 2nd would be allowed, hee! Well, today is January 3rd, so I think I'm okay.
The movie I chose for my entry is The Mummy featuring Sesshoumaru as Rick O'Connell, and Kagome as Evelyn Carnahan.
The Mummy is one of my all time favourite movies, and one of the few movies I can watch over and over again and never get tired of it.
I hope everyone likes this, and those not aware of the contest, do enter! I'm even thinking of offering up some prizes, what do ya think?

Thank you! It's definitely one of my personal favourite pieces. I'm particularly proud of the bag hanging off the back of the saddle, and Kagome's breasts XDDD
The colours were a big thing for me with this piece as well, because it was the first time I created an atmosphere like it with 100% colours. Usually I'll do an overlap and basically 'cheat' a colour tint on the whole piece, but this time I actually thought about the colours I chose and how they would work together to create the feeling I wanted, as you can see by the ring of colours around the sun and clouds.

Though, at first, I thought she was wearing a bikini. And then I realized it's just a sultry black dress. And then I realized that both of those options are equally unsuitable for desert weather. >.>
But, y'know, she looks good, and when you look that good, who needs to worry about deserts? XD

Lmao, well that is what Evie wore in The Mummy, so I couldn't really make my own choice of wardrobe...though I'd likely still pick something equally sexy XD

Hehehe! Well, I have to say, I rather imagined the camel is a lady camel. Much more tranquil than a male, and willing to put up with all of Sesshoumaru and Kagome's shifting around!

Even without reading your comment I thought in The Mummy when I saw the pic, I think this mean you did a good job. The colors are beautiful. I like this image even if i don't like this crack couple.
But I think he has more brain than Rick...

He definitely doesn't completely fit the Rick persona, but its interesting to contemplate how the story would change with someone like Sesshoumaru playing the male lead.

I used my Christmas break as much as I could, and finished my fanfiction. That thankfully left me time to do this (which took me about 6 hours, from sketching, to lineart and colouring), and to also do a comic that will be saved for Valentine's Day.

Thanks for letting me know. I've been side-tracked by Skyrim, so that's partially why I haven't been writing or drawing lately. The other part is due to me painting four different paintings for x-mas presents. xD
I should really get back to writing... I still haven't started my latest attempt at my novel... I can't decide weather I want to do it in 1st or in 3rd person. I prefer 3rd, but the way my main character narrates would be hilarious to write.
I also have my 100 theme challenge up but have yet to finish anything for it. Tons of freakin' sketches, but no finished products that I'm willing to put up. >.>;

A lot of people I know have recommended I try Skyrim, but like you, they all seem to become addicted to it XD I simply don't have the time for that, though it sounds REAAAAALLY good!
I think, in the end, you should go with whichever will be more enjoyable to write. And if writing in first person will be more enjoyable to do (and then for an audience to read), I'd say go for that! 8D
Ugggh, that challenge! I started it too, but I doubt I'll ever finish it, unless I pick something knew to draw around it that's more interesting to me.

Well I've gotten to a part now where it seems impossible to beat (not even the end, just a part of the main quest)-- I'll try it again tomorrow, but if it's really going to just frustrate me, it'll be the perfect reason for me to get back to drawing and writing with all my free time. xD
So far when I've tried to write 1st person it's a strain... but I like the idea of it a whole hell of a lot. >.>;

That seems like a good plan XD A few games I'm playing are frustrating me right now too, which came at a perfect time, because school started on Tuesday, and projects are a-comin'!
Well, if it's difficult, then stick to third person. I've written in first, and I really enjoy it, personally, and find it comes easy, but that's not true for everyone.

The main character would be awesome to have narrate because she's got even more of a biting and sarcastic sense of humor than I do. xD But yes, it would be difficult.

Mmm, sometimes, there's also the unfortunate situation that people may not enjoy reading that. I tried to write a story with a similar character narrating, and the person I had proof it said she actually came to despise the character for her attitudes and thoughts :/

The first movie was okay but I prefer the second one, and the third one was kinda of awful.

I really enjoy the first one for the interactions between Rick and Evie, especially the scene where he gives her the tool kit that he stole from Mr. Burns.
I agree that the third one is awful. I haven't seen it myself, but there's a few things immediately that made me not want to watch it: 1) Rachel Weisz doesn't play Evelyn. I absolute hate it when producers push a sequel that doesn't feature the same actors; 2) the mummy wasn't Imotep. You can't have a sequel to The Mummy when you aren't even using the same mummy, especially since he had a place in the first two films, suggesting the title is limited to him, rather than any mummy. If another mummy had been used in the second film, I couldn't accepted the Chinese mummy better.
Please ignore my rant XD My family doesn't share my opinion on The Mummy movies, and has tried to get me to watch the third one many times. I guess this was all repressed deep down somewhere...

The problem, though, with Jaken as Benny, is Benny dislikes Rick, and vice versa. I could agree that maybe you could write it probably that Sesshoumaru dislikes Jaken, but Jaken adores Sesshoumaru, so that doesn't work so well.

well it could be that jaken(benny) did look up to lord sesshoumaru (rick) but in a moment of weakness ran off thinking to save himself so he could live to serve rick another day but as usual it backfired and now rick hates benny for being a coward and leaving him and benny thinking that if he got enough money could get back into rick's good graces....which I think fits with benny's old ploy of falsely leading groups out to find the city of Hamunaptra and then leaving them out in the desert. And it would fit in with Benny working for Imotep to get the gold at the end of the movie.

Yay!!!! and i figured that miroku can be another majai along with sango which should provide entertainment in awkward moments like say when all the mind controlled people are chasing after them and kagome(evelyn) is speed reading to find the golden book miroku could grope sango and after she smacks him, he can say "but my dear sango, I'm just stroking my good luck charm for courage seeing as we are out numbered and I wouldn't want to run out of motivation"
