I am trying out new things in photoshop. This original is actually very nice but i am a bit tired of red roses si i wanted to do a b/w one. That is kind of tricky in photoshop though since the option to just desaturating gives a really flat image with no definition at all. This one is first made b/w in the channelmixer then i added a duotone and changed levels a bit. i am still not perfectly happy with it. Colour photos are a lot more forgiving with things like DOF then b/w are. the center waterdrop is fuzzy and it irks me! still, it was fun and i learnt lots from it.Related content

This is awesom. I'm currently having trouble with duotone. apparently it won't save as a jpg if i have duotone on.

thanks, you need to go to mode and change back from duotone to rbg again when you are done, the changes done to the photo will still be there.

I think you could zoom in closer into the flower. This is edited very well. I think the texture came out really well. The water drops were a good stop too. I think there might have been a slight case of camera shake - that or the DOF could be even deeper.
But otherwise, good stuff.

I find it perfectly alright. Don't be bothered too much about the DOF in a monochromatic image. Nice work with the contrast and color

Great shot and great job.
Photoshop recommendations.
Change it to grayscale and then back to RGB, then adjust the levels (image, adjust, levels) then try out variations (image, adjust, variations). This gives you really fine grain control over adding color.

hmm I think that this is very interesting. The duotone, gives it that certain something, over a colour shot. the water droplets are a good touch, along with the nice off center composition.
