I hate inking digitally too
And in my case the answer is: NO. I will NEVER get used to it :/ One just gotta do it by hand and add the colors digitally. That's how God intended.... (what am I talking about, I'm an atheist U___U)

I just found a work of yours in which I really like the inking, especially the shape of the face: [link] - so I'd never thought you have the same problem.
But how do you make your hand-drawn lines blend so naturally with digital colouring? Is it that you use a copy layer with gaussian blur?
I'm always experimenting with ink tools, but just can't get the right one. Ballpoint pen is not smooth and dark enough; multiliners are, but they are either too thin or too thick, and I can't adjust the line weight by pressure. Actually I find pencils the easiest to work with, but that doesn't make a decent lineart...

nope, I just put the traditionally made lineart on top in 'multiply' and colours go under it on one or a few layers ^__^
Sometimes, when I'm done, I flatten all, copy the layer, set the top one on slight blur and lower the opacity of it, so that the whole is not blurred to much, and flatten again ^_^
And thanks, that part of the comic was inked in Manga Studio 4 ex actually, I prefer it over Photoshop or SAi a lot ^^ But still, there's nothing as comfortable as a hand-drawn lineart, at least to me I know the Ctrl+z is not there, but even if some major mistakes are made, I just try to remember where they are and just fix the lineart after it's scan by erasing or drawing something on
I use a regular ballpen for normal lineart, though you are right, it is not dark enough and even after fixing in photoshop, the lines may be very streaky or have empty spaces in them
for the comic I use gelpens of various sizes, dunno why

Well, it's almost the same as I thought I sometimes do it like this: I duplicate the lineart layer only, use gaussian blur filter on the top one, both set to multiply, and then change the opacity of the blurred one to what looks best. I've also tried this flattening-blurring of the whole thing, but then the colors change drastically and I don't like that

I do that too! So my sketches look very funny after inking, because there are sometimes 3 arms or legs, one of which waiting for erasing digitally Gelpens are cool too, although they just love to make random inkblots when I'm not careful enough

hehe, exactly!!! That's why for me it would be impossible to show off or give away an original lineart or sketch, it always has funny stuff on it and is so messy! When I do aceos or stuff that I know will have to be passed on in traditional way, I try EXTRA hard not to fuck up the lines And that involves a lot of pencil-eraser use first
