I thought about it and decided to change Nick's appearance a little. His appearance has actually changed a little throughout time with the Zootopia trailers. I thought it would be alright if I've made a few adjustments. I won't explain about the changes on him here, for they kinda stand out a bit. He's been drawn onto the "practice sheet" just like I did with Judy Hopps. I only do this for first attempts or redesigning a character. I didn't mention this in the previous one with Judy, but I don't really bother posting these type of sheets up since they're just warm-ups. Though if anyone is interested in seeing these, just let me know and I'll see if I should post these whenever I practice on new character(s). ^^Related content

Not bad bro, sorry it's taken so long to comment on stuff. The biggest difference I see, and I read you intentionally changed stuff, is his proportions. I know the show gave him a long torso and short lil legs, I guess you like a fox with some nice long slender legs eh? ; P
I don't think this is an intentional change as much as it is just your style of drawing. You know I hate critiquing stuff so please don't take it the wrong way. But this is something I noticed even more on Judy's picture. It's the way you draw your eyes. There isn't a right or wrong way obviously but here's my two cents. Your small pupil-ed, totally encircled and round eyes work great for the FNAF characters because it gives them that robotic dead kinda look. But here I don't know if it has a good effect, as earlier, it kinda gives them a little bit of a soulless creepy doll sorta feel.
My constructive advice about that, and it's totally your choice if you want to take it bro! Maybe enlarge your pupils a bit, the bigger the pupils the cuter and more alive the character looks in my experience, the icing on the cake is to add a little shine off to the corner to show wetness you'll notice that's about the only thing I change with the eyes when I draw your style Maggie. Another thing I'd suggest is to not encircle the top of the eyelid instead allow it to flow into the rest of the skin of the face. When the eyelid is totally lined-off separate from the rest of the head it gives it that mechanical doll look like the eyelid is some mechanically moved flap or like one of those doll eyes previews.123rf.com/images/stepβ¦ The only thing that should naturally be totally encircled is the eyeball itself. Oh and something I've just been starting to do myself is cheek flairs, if the character is smiling, flaring up the cheeks into the bottom of the eye does wonders on cuteness makes their cheeks look all full and lovable! half-dude.deviantart.com/art/Cβ¦

I've always really liked the design of this character. I don't know why but he looks kinda... smug in a way?

I still haven't seen this movie. Actually, I don't even know if it's out yet. Don't got any commercials to tell me.
But other than that, these are really good sketches for him!Β

Yeah, its possibly because he's smug, I agree with that. The movie has not been out yet. I have seen recent commercials of the movie. Have you seen any trailers lately?
My guess is the movie will be out around March in the U.S. but other regions may have the chance to watch it earlier before we do.Β
