I've been lazy lately.. meh. I noticed that the Sonic gem collection art work for Sonic Cd is the updated Sonic.. I was wonder "What would happen if I mixed the Sonic Cd style and the recent Sonic style together?"Here's the result.. It doesnt look anything like a Sonic Cd style Sonic
But I tried.. he has the semi round hands and continuous spikes. There ya go..

it would kinda be....well his torso would be more less slimer and more define to his more older 15 year old appearance. and yeah the quills would be a hare more shorter and spiked like you got right there.
but one thing I stop,thats off is the arm on the side looks shorter then the other.

He looks like he is supposed to be leaning up against something but I like the style. It's definetly not his SA look and not his CD look either but in between. I still hate the fact that the game refuses to run good on my XP driven lappy...
