I don't remember exactly which tools I used, but I'm sure that the airbrush and watercolor will make the same effect

Light from up, right?
So where from is light on her eyes? It can't go trugh mane, because mane has shadow too.
You should do some shadows there, something like at second Twilight, what is a little higher in my text.

It's hard to tell how these solitary practice portraits would look in a complete picture, but I'm guessing they'd look pretty good. Nice work; you've been really improving recently.

Twilight is cute.
The shading is definitely not bad. I uploaded a (quick 'n dirty) variant to #3 on derpibooru: derpiboo.ru/1214645 , to show how most shading can profit from a (subtle) secondary light.

i would say take the mixture of 1's air shading, but then mix it with 3's body shading. 3 seems the most pleasing to look at because it looks more finished or like a final product

They all look good but they all have their own things that stand out in my opinion.
For #3, the shading on the horn and bits on the hair make it stand out while the shading on #4's body stands out as well. #1's hair shading stands out but so does #2, along with the eyes and a bit of the body shading.
If I had to choose between them, then #4 is my favourite.
