Cobalt blue sky
rising above the yellow trucks
and the red earth dust clouds,
like hungry locusts
swirling through the air.
The building goes up,
fingers of greying steel
and flimsy wooden platforms,
tiny ants hive - entranced
and no queen to guide them.

Upwards into space,
pierce the cobalt sky
with glorious new
apartments that
defy the very gravity
with their overbearing,
overwhelming need
to fly.

Go further,
up into the night
pierce it too, stab through with the
powers of flight,
connect the ground
and the sky
so that they are as one.

Because the higher you go
the less likely
you are to see the ground
and what becomes of it.
