Description "Pyrrhia"
Dr. Ph Martins, Winsor & Newton Cotman, and Galeria Gold on Montval 300gsm
19 x 27 centimeters

This one took me five days to finish. I wanted to test the Dr Ph Martins concentrated/radiant watercolors in terms of vibrancy - it is really bloody red. I must save up because each bottle is VERY expensive. I was only able to buy two colors (after a loooong debate with my wallet's capabilities). I wish I had a full time job so I could buy what I need. Too bad employment is getting worse in my country. I usually spend midnights until 3:00am scanning online local job/placement websites. I couldn't waste money to personally go to offices (that's the culture here), so I'm relying on emails hoping to get a reply. And as of today, out of nearly 50 emails I've sent, I never got a reply. So my only source of income now is selling paintings. Thankfully and luckily I was able to sell four these past few weeks, and at a terribly low price (range is $25 - $120). I use facebook to reach potential buyers, and I am somehow begging my friends to SHARE and spread the word. Instagram was a big help as well. My moms medicine for her osteoporosis is becoming expensive, I don't understand how drug prices suddenly go high in just a month. I keep on praying more people would take interest in what I do. It does hurt to let go of paintings one by one. The selfish me says 'keep them, stop selling them, they will be valuable in the future', but the practical me slaps my face hard and says 'you were given that gift in painting to help your loved ones you have no right to be selfish'. I guess that made me realize, whatever is material in this world is useless because what should matter most is people we love. It may be hard to do little sacrifices, but to provide what your family needs through what small things you can do, it really warms the heart. It makes you feel you are a good person, and you are using your gift for the right purpose.
