Jessie "Bird" Simmons. She was one of the victims of the Australian omnium fusion core's explosion, leaving her disabled and depressed.
One day after seeing a plane (a rare view nowadays in Australia) she decided that if she couldn't walk anymore, she will fly. Two years later, despite her disability, she had become one of the best flight instructors and was finally able to acquire a set of bionic legs for herself and learn to walk again.
These days she is an instructor with the Australian Air Force, helping them rebuild. She also does various reconnaissance and transportation jobs on the side and has a passion for Junker races, where she is constantly in competition for first place with Korean mech pilot D.va .
