Vampires, or Kindred as they prefer to be called, have changed the least of the supernatural races after the re-boot, but they still changed nonetheless.
The origin of the race is allot more vague.
The origin story from the classic World of Darkness about the Kindred being descended from Cain is still presented as a possibility, but it's not a certainty.
A different origin story, presented as more likely, is that all vampires descended from Belial, originally a mortal man who was bitten and turned by Satan himself.
A third, even more radical theory exists, suggesting that each of the vampire clans is in fact a completely different race, all of whom simply share some basic characteristics (feeding on blood, weakness to sunlight, re-producing trough blood-infection)

5 clans are introduced in the basic "Vampire the Requiem" splat-book. A 6th clan is introduced in the alternative historical setting book "Requiem for Rome"

The clans are:

Daeva
Largely a mix of the clans Brujah, Toreador, and Ravnos from Vampire the Masquerade. They resemble the "Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire" archetype of vampires as sexual predators, but they also have a very war-like nature to them.
Members of the clans have serious problems with self-control, when it comes to their vices.

Gangrel
Lifted directly from the original Vampire the Masquerade, albeit with a lessened emphasis on the nature aspect. They represent the concept of vampires as savage hunters, and pack animals, as seen in "From Dusk Till Dawn" or "30 Days of Night."
The members of this clan can barely control their rage or hunting instincts.

Mekhet
A mix of the VtM clans Tremere, Lasombra, Assamites, Followers of Set, and Cappadocians. They represent the idea of vampires being the un-living avatars of Darkness itself, probably resembling "Hellsing" the most.
Being the avatars of darkness however, the Mekhet are even more sensitive to sunlight than vampires from any other clan.

Nosferatu
Taken directly from VtM, based of the movie of the same name.
A major difference between this and the past version is that in the previous game-line, all Nosferatu were universally hideous. The new version alters this weakness. A Nosferatu does not have to be ugly. In fact, they can be stunningly beautiful. But no-one would ever mistake them for a human.

Ventrue
Taken directly from VtM. They represent the classic idea of vampires as charismatic aristocrats, as popularized by "Bram Stoker's Dracula."
The clan's main weakness is a risk of mental degeneration. Members of the clan frequently exposed to high mental strains are in the danger of developing severe mental disorders. This makes them similar to the VtM clan Malkavians (the condition itself being referred to as Malkovia).

Julii
Introduced in the "Requiem for Rome" historical setting book.
They are largely the Ancient Roman equivalent of the Ventrue, with an added affinity to wolves. They are beleaved to have been created by the war god Mars.
Their variation of the clan weakness manifest through them becoming increasingly beast-like as their mind degenerates.

No offense meant to VtR, but I kind of miss the old VtM series. Still, nice work...
