Description
Name - KoaPrononced like boa with a K
Race - Kugo
Age - 10
Size - Large dog
Backstory - A few weeks after he was born a fire started in the forest his family lived in. He took refuge in the roots of a tree by a river. By some miracle he managed to live but, was stuck inside the roots because, a large rock had rolled in a pinned his leg. The next day he was found by a rescue team and got a new leg.
They recruited him on their team and made him a hunting and guard dog. He protects those who saved him and obeys only them.
Lil facts: The spines on his back raise up when he is mad and his jaw can open really wide. He also has retractable teeth.

Does Koa have short fur everywhere? And since you wanted a happy expression, does that mean Koa's teeth would be retracted? And where would he normally be with his team? Like in a humanoid town? Or some sort of road? Or maybe even in the middle of a forest or other wilderness?

Yes he does!
It can be either way the only time he really has to retract his teeth is when he's playing with his buddies^^
They go anywhere and everywhere so whatever fits
The Savannah is Thomas's hometown and a forest with mountains surround it
They visit towns to restock on food and supplies and get a job or sell things

I ended up making a sketch of Koa resting on a cliff and watching either birds or leaves fly by over a lake surrounded by a forest.

This is a cool character!! Their coloration is really suiting, and I like the way the backstory turned out!
