Tied in to this concept: selenaede.deviantart.com/art/Pβ¦Lyra and Bon Bon (as she will always be to me, new name of Sweetie Drops be damned) function as "one" Frontier Brain. Double Battles all the way.
So Rapidash, Zebstrika and Girafarig are Lyra's Pokemon. Goodra, Vanilluxe and Masquerain are Bon Bon's.
As a pony the fans have made Lyra obsess over humans, so as a human she would need to obsess over equines, hence why all her Pokemon are based on equines.
Bon Bon has Vanilluxe because it is the most candy like pokemon that has not already been uilized in this series, she has a Goodra because there exists gooey and sticky candy in the world (also because I really like Goodra) and she has Masquerain because it's kind of stripy like her cutie marks. Honestly it was hard to pick Pokemon for her, but they all seem to suit her fine despite intent.

I think that human or EG Lyra should technically obsess over unicorns, because in Equestria humans are "myths" so in the human world she would obsess over unicorns, them being myths to humans. Not sure how this would translate to Pokemon, maybe be like that Suicune guy and obsess over the SoJ or something...
Also, are you going to do Cheese Sandwich or Maud Pie?

The unicorn thing is represented in her Rapidash, the Pokemon that is based on unicorns. I have plans to do more characters and I am currently working on some.

No but it is the most equine of the pokemon I did not already have plans for (besides Rapidash and Zebstrika). This series is ongoing, thus asking where so and so is just means I probably haven't gotten there yet.

I think that if you were going for candy PokΓ©mon then Swirlix/Slurpuff would have been a better choice but love the other PokΓ©mon.

Hah, Awesome that they are a pair. Only thing is, Giraffes are hardly Equine, they are even-toed ungulates (Artiodactyla), while equines are odd-toed, (Perissodactyla). But I guess a Girafarig is more Equine over any other Pokemon beyond the Musketeers, and you might have already known that. I like Bon-Bon'sΒ candy themed Pokemon as well. Goodra is a cool match, watch out for Pseudo-Legendaries.
About the name Sweetie-Drops. I'm confused why they are using it. |Is it new somewhere like in toys? I could have sworn I saw official trading cards using the Bon-Bon name. Sometimes official names change, like Time Turner becoming Doctor Hooves (as opposed to Doctor Whooves). Sometimes official nicknames can never stick (like Colgate for Minuette). Sometimes, one fan name sticks over another, like DJ Pon-3 over Vinyl-Scratch, regardless of which is more popular.

I believe Sweetie Drops is a slightly newer name change, but I still like Bon Bon better.
I chose Girafarig because it was the most equine out of the Pokemon I was willing to use for her (besides Zebstrika and Rapidash), even if giraffes aren't really that close to equines.

Right, so at one point, Hasbro could have accepted Bon Bon as an official name, but decided to change it, perhaps to something trademarkable?Β Yeah, I figured, Girafarig is the most Equine like Pokemon you hadn't already used beyond some of the Musketeers, and those are Legendary. For a Giraffe, it's pretty short and compact with a horse like body.
