Description The lady of the lake was a lot more than just the watery woman who gave king Arthur Excalibur, she was also Merlins apprentice and lover, and in time she became much more powerful than even him. It was she that imprisoned Merlin for all time. I painted this portrait of this powerful woman in watercolour.

wow like....... wow........ this is praps one of the best pieces i've seen and it's nice to here about Nimue in her true sense. It's also said, accourind to the book i'm currently reading, that when merlin supposedly died he passed on his power and knowledge to her making some people such as lancelot and guinevere supisious that she had killed him for his power. thats just what i read though. again wow!

A beautiful picture with a lovely flow. The colours are brilliant and very modest for such a powerful lady.

Wait..a...minute....isn't the Lady of the Lake and the one who gives Arthur his sword Vivane, and not Nimue? And Merlin is Vivane's step-father...ack....

From my research, Vivane is just one of many names for the same woman, depending on the intepretation of the myth. Nimue is Vivane, Vivane is Nimue

Beautiful. Very evocative, though for some reason I would have made it a little darker, considering the controversial character... She is also the one who raised Lancelot, right? But then again she pulled that stunt on Merlin... However, the drawing is beautiful. You use watercolors very well. Bravo!
