For some time because there were reasons! The brother was the good king as he beat up bullies and shared food with the poor when he was crowned even with no experience!

They are introduced to Edric in his throne rehearsing then arguing about what the play will be about and the other scenes have them finding Edric at the campfire with Drago hiding until he comes out of his camouflage and they plan to sneak into the castle and steal the heartfire from Meghan cause Drago is shown to be coughing and dying without it!
