Would you consider maybe allowing me to use your gorgeous paintings in my collages? It might be collaboration of sorts. I would of course credit you and link back to your page and the original (and any other websites).

I wouldn't like... It is risky for my image. Sorry!

Oh, that's fine, no problem, I understand completely!
Thank you for considering it though.

I am very late with the answer, excuse me. My sister in law who is living in Canada, wanted a copy of the Jewess and I decided to make it different and 2 years older. But she was so in-love with the yang one, that didn`t like it and I sent her a print on canvas of the previous. I prefer the second one and this is the reason to ask you to compere. This photo is not very good. I repaired some little thinks after making the photo and I need to take a new picture. I painted 2 new portraits: my brother Ivan (The Choice) and his daughter, my beautiful niece Floria Maria. You can sea them here.

I`ll answer the other letter later.

Hi, I think that this version, "viki2", is warmer, did you under-paint with a warm colour? I think it is more detailed, the brushwork is harder to spot, if you can at all!! lol I thought I could see a loose hair on the portrait, near the sitters right collar-bone below her neck? Details like the earring and scarf are better defined on this one, it seems more 'mature' as a painting, than the original, but I suppose that is stating the obvious!

The original version had more light contrast, I think, and I could see more of the brushwork, especially the headscarf, the photo was clearer I think too, so it was hard to exactly compare the pictures, with things like this, with two similar subjects I open them up side by side on the computer and see what they 'tell' me - another hobby of mine is stereo-photography, so I can see the differences between two pictures side-by-side!! Maybe the original had brighter lighting? Or is it artistic interpretation?

I did notice some small differences, little things like the jaw line maybe, but it could be lighting or artist interpretation at time of painting, as I said, i am no expert lol They are quite accurate paintings though, considering they are sessions two years apart, something I liked about Dali was his, at times, almost invisible brushwork and ability to 'clone' a painting to almost photographic level of detail, so much so that he produced a few paintings that were essentially stereo images.

My preference? That's a hard one, I'm not just being diplomatic when I say that, for me, I'd have to actually see both together, to compare, I think I have said before that I seem to 'feel' a piece of art these days, when I am up close to a painting I look for hints as to how the work was achieved, in some way I am trying to connect with the artists 'soul' perhaps? With these two paintings, I would be looking at one feature on one painting and comparing it to the other.

Plus, I am a weird chap, some days my tastes are different to others lol Right now I would say that I 'prefer' the newer "viki2" BUT I do keep 'feeling' something about the original, as I have said before, I can stare at pictures for hours feeling that something inside will click, as if there is more to what I am seeing?

I've already written too much, so I'd better leave it there.

Keep smiling!!!

Even the same clothes and earring! Not sure if this is the same piece updated, or a new work. The detailing does seem finer in this version, and the angle of the face seems slightly changed. Excellent work in both cases.
