So...been meaning to ask you, has the Japanese of these far-flung colonies begun to diverge from that of the mainland in any way? Any mixing of dialects, variation in pitch, verb conjugation differences being sorted out through sheer convenience, that sort of thing?

Since this a collaborative timeline, I can only guess that there will be more mixing with Native tongues as the Indians and Japanese are near the same social latter in the European colonies. As to how and in what way I do not think I am educated enough to comment on the Japanese language.
