Description
Painted with acrylic paints on a 22'' x 25'' canvas. This took me 2 weeks to do mostly because I was painting it and 2 other paintings at the same time. Im sorry about the quality I used my iPhone to take this picture.Related content

I love the detail of the tree spirits and the water. First thing that caught my eye. I can understand Since everything was already said about San I don't need to say anything. But the detail on her is amazing. Great job.

it came out ok for an iphone but it really looks good when its right in front of you. lol over the internet it's really hard.

I like this picture, it has stood out to me and it is very beautiful and detailed. I know for a fact that me now could never do anything like this!!!
The only thing that I'm a bit put off by is San's face. I mean its cool cause it is unique and stuff but I just don't know if it really suits her...?! But yeah that is it, the rest is AWESOME!!!

lol Thank you, and ya I know the face could have done with another go over. And at some point I just might do that. But for now my focus will be on my other projects, and more digital oriented works. Thank you again.

Thank you. Not yet but I'll probably do some more soon, probably Howls Moving Castle. However I don't think I will do ant more paintings just digital stuff for now.

I am in the middle of reading Howls Movie Castle. I love all the Miyasaki movies. They are so good!

Oh ya the book. I love the movie thats why I got the book, you'll find that there both really different but I love them both. Not so much for the 2 sequel books.

I also like the wolf and the shadowing, but princess Mononoke's face looks a little off to me, did you use your own take on her?
She looks slightly Cartoony on the face but the rest of it is perfect.

lol ya faces have never been my strong suit when it comes to painting and it has been 7 years since I've last tried any kind of painting. I had also ran out of time to get it ready for animethon. But its done now and I may take some time to work on it again in the mounts to come.

In fact I can't draw animals if my life depended on it, they always seem too malformed for me, but you seem to have a natural talent for them and your background work is almost like concept art from the movie!
I'd be surprised if you didn't get 1st Prize tbh. ^^

This...is very beautiful. The details, the colors and all the effects you used (especially with the spirits and the water). I like it a lot. It really is a masterpiece.
If you allow me one point of critique: San's face could need some work. Her facial expression is...weird. But except from that it's such a great work...

I agree with you on the face my own personal comic book style probably contradicted with the friendly look of studio Ghibi. Soon I'll probably upload the ink drawing I did as a reference to the painting and you can see for yourself. I don't think I'll be doing any painting for some time but if I can this on is on my lists to do. Thanks for the comment.
