Daliens are dragon-like creatures born from the light. They are not indigenous to earth however. It was on one of Flora’s excursions into the ethereal realm, a wild forest where the Fae rest, that she came upon one of these daliens while it was in its feral form. It slept in a clearing, dead plants surrounding it on all sides. Upon further inspection, she noticed that it was injured. The membrane that allowed it to swim that should have been underneath its arms were torn, and it had noticeable bruises and burns. Perhaps it had been hunted by a creature. After all, the ethereal plane was not without danger…

She could have left it there, and by all the powers that be, she should have, but she did not, scooping the small, puppy sized creature into her arms and bringing it back to the earthrealm with her. It was then given to Mother Daylily, who knew exactly what the little creature was. It wasn’t just an ordinary dalien but also a cursed one. Cursed daliens, unlike normal daliens, do not feed off of the sunlight. Rather, those that are born cursed reject the sun, and feed on the life energy of those around them. This includes plant life as well. Normal Daliens naturally reject the cursed, expelling them far away in order to keep themselves as well as the land safe.

Knowing this, most would have sent the little thing packing, no matter how cute it was, but Flora was intrigued and took pity on it. If it needed lifeforce, then it would dine solely on hers from then on. She did not think it a problem since all Lovelaces have especially strong life forces. Of course, if it was to live and grow in her home, it would be subjected to the same training and standards that the rest of the maids had gone through as well as her own children that were now grown and living their lives away from her. It would not be wrong to say that she thought of the dalien, who she had started calling Moonglow, as a surrogate daughter of hers rather than a pet.

Years passed, and the cast out abomination was turned into a lady of Flora’s estate. Years of drinking Flora’s life force and her life force only has given Moonglow a body that typical daliens would not have. She has a very regal look to her, with even her tail fins mimics the appearance of a dress. She can fully comprehend what others say to her and can respond just like anyone else. Having been recognized by Flora, she was taught upper level magic, but she is still an apprentice at best.

Personality-wise, Moonglow is noble, but she is also very haughty and can be quick to anger.
