Description Does Musical/Book/Movie Cosplaying count as Cosplay?

Les MisΓ©rables by Viktor Hugo
French Version of the Musical by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel / English lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer

Vlad as Inspector Javert
Devan as Jean Valjean...
Costumes from the musical version/10th anniversary Concert

I know Vlad would actually make a much better Vlajean, seeing he has the beard, the built, he IS mayor of Amity Park and hides his identity...
But... well... Devan WAS in prison >_> meh...
And yes i know that would make Walker his Javert but I HATE Walker and he IS not liek Javert >_>...
Also I couldn't bring myself to dye Vlad's hair black... but Vlad with muttonchops is TEH WIN!! XD
Ths scene was inspired by the scenes from both the musical (Quast is awesum!) and the Gerard Depardieu/John Malkovich TV-Mini-Series... Damn Gerard you moved that knife so seductively!!!!

Musical version can be found here If Youtube isn't bitching ^^
Also I'm sure Hugo didn't actually want it but DAMN these two are almost canon in how they act each time they meet ... dammit...

Also, because Ashee's Devan likes to dress up as stuff and put Vlad in the most strange situations then XD

Cosplay has to end in making out. Outherwise it wouldn't be half the fun.

"I thought cosplay always ends that way." It does have that tendency, doesn't it? We have a right to dream, though. *sigh*

Wooow....I'm DEFINITELY checking out this musical. This seems mighty interesting....

Although...I always thought Cosplay tended to end in making out as well

Do so, these two characters are awesome... but you'll have to sit through some hetero lovey-dovey ness as well that IS a bit annoying because it's too cheezy >_>

When is hetero stuff in musicals (or just period really) NOT cheezy? lol

I just the 25th anniversary musical tour here in Chicago a couple of weeks ago. It was LIFE CHANGING *3*
With that said, I recognized the scene even before I even clicked on the thumbnail. GW looks a tad sadistic.... but, my god, it's hot.

GW would be a tad sadistic I'm afraid... XD
I like Quast too much as Javert... I know Norm Lewis is a very good actor but... I can't imagine a black Javert... And I know it sounds racist but... My first thought when I saw him playing Javert was "WAIT WHAT!? Weren't they all slaves still then!?"... ;_;
The friend who got me interested in Les Mis in teh first place thought something along the lines of that too when she saw him so I don't feel 100% like a bad person... just 50 ^^
Did you see the French Miniseries...? Really he moved that knife down so slowly over his chest... the only thing that was worse than that was actually the book because Javert was strapped on a frigging table... how much more "Innuendo-y" can you get!?!?

Ack, this took me forever to respond to. College is going to kill me.
The man who played Jean Valjean in the production I went to was black and my goodness, was he amazing. His presence had so much strength on stage. He was amazingly compatible with the actor that played Javert. His suicide scene was especially heart breaking.
In the version of that scene that I saw, Valjean threatened him with the shot gun that one of the barricade boys gave him or at least as far as I can remember. My memory's a tad fuzzy due to midterms.
Despite the undertaking, the book might be my project reading this summer while I work. I'm going to need something to keep me sane.
