Severus was quite aware of the hour … it was getting late and he had not yet come down from the tree … The reading was good and he had lost track of the time, dusk was falling quick enough, he did not care, the night and his gift of stealth would see him safely to the Slytherin rooms … he no longer cared weather those louts were waiting for him … lurking somewhere in the shadows …

He yawned and then stretched a little, almost slipping from his purchase on that dangerously high limb …

Someone passed beneath him crossing the grounds off into the darkness of the woods … another cloaked figure followed not long after … he sat as still as stone … daring not even to breath …

The stars became brighter in the growing twilight … his curiosity gaining over his fear suddenly … He swallowed hard, his lips were dry as his throat, adrenaline pressing him to scramble down the great tree like some mad squirrel … he waited a moment longer then scurried across the grass along the same direction as the others …

His Slytherin nature taking him fast into the darkness of the forest …
