Description It was difficult to tell which of the whispers in her head was truth and which was a lie, which voices could be trusted and which had a mind to damage.  Perhaps she ought to have ignored every single one of them, it certainly had to be safer than listening to all, but she'd never exactly been good at fending for herself.

They hid away from the world and hollowly watched the webs of people patterns and society go by, from behind shuttered eyelids and blue veins that pulsed and almost seemed to tick, like the sound of a dying clock.  The sane person in an insane world; it was hard to live but she had to play by their rules, because otherwise she'd lose this huge game they called life and they never told you what the punishment was, only that it was after some ritual referred to as death.  It was a big secret misty amazing mysterious thing that everybody seemed to fear, but everybody lost at some point and everybody had to encounter this death at some point or another for some reason, so she didn't quite understand why to be terrified.  Why, it might be beautiful lovely gorgeous romantic and exotic behind that dark curtain, or maybe there was nothing at all, and maybe nothingness would be lovely – a soft blanket that protected from hurts.

It was clearly a world full of unknowns and wonderful discoveries to be made, but death had to be the last journey, that was what she was always told.  She almost looked forward to it, to understanding what the hype was, but there was no desire to have it come more quickly.  Just curiosity that others referred to as 'morbid', although that word had so many meanings and connotations she could not decide what the actual definition was; perhaps it was one of those words that varied from person to person, like religion or pain.

At any rate, they said she was a 'character' 'eccentric' all those words that meant wrong unidentified alone but that was all right, because she had her voices and she had her ponderings and she had the understandings that none of them could see, and it was fine.
