This is basically my fanfiction-fangirl dream right here. It's pathetic but I blame all the Snape mentors/adopts Harry fics I've been reading all these years. Darn you, fanfiction community!

This is too funny! I always thought that Harry should've told Snape about what he saw in the pensive about his father. It really bothered Harry and for the first time he realized that his father wasn't as perfect or amazing as he'd always thought. It also annoyed me that Dumbledore never told Harry anything about Snape, he could've said something like "don't be so hard on Professor Snape, Harry he's had a hard life/he's hurting etc." I think it would've been more interesting if Snape and Harry's relationship started off as hate but Harry kind of grew on Snape throughout the series, their relationship was too one-dimensional and stagnate throughout the series. I've even thought it would be sweet if Snape had raised Harry as his own, if he wanted to protect and care for the boy for Lilly than it would be best to raise him himself as opposed to having him be raised by the Dursley's, Snape would grow to love Harry as his own son and for the first time, Snape would have some happiness. Harry ends up naming one of his kids after Snape but if Snape never really loved or cared at all for Harry (only his mother) it would seem strange to honor him so much. I think Harry would have to find a final letter from Snape addressed to him or something that said he never hated Harry and even secretly loved him but didn't know how/want to show it.

yeah it was strange he named his middle child that made his school life at hogwarts because his dad bully him. but i love snape.

I think he named him after Snape because Snape protected him. I think it's also possible that when he got older, he felt guilty for being mean to Snape as well and wishing things had been different.

The numerous appraisals here leave me with no words which are not repetition of all that has been written before my comment. So I join the crowd in saying that this is the best comic I have seen about Snape and harry. The “laws of fanfiction” was hilarious idea and can’t find a word for the look on Snape in the bottom panel. Poor Sev. People either don’t understand him or over do their understanding. awesome work.

That is what I keep telling myself, but it still rankles.
(Hurrah, one of us! What really bugs me about them though is how the people who knew them, hell-half the wizarding world, talk like they were perfect, kind, always understanding, and all-around great people...when this was obviously not always the case. Talk about misrepresentation!)

both Harry and Snape were too complicated. it was hard to them to show even a little respect T_T besides, Snape was concentrating on his hatred and Harry never knew (when Potions Master was ALIVE), that he's something more than just a greasy git and a follower of Voldemort.
though these circumstances make me depressed...

Yeah, it was a bit of a failing on both their parts. I can't just blame Harry (although I would like to) for it. There are a few instances that I can twist around to saaaay that Snape kinda acknowledges Harry, but that would be a gross overstatement and probably reading too much into it. It is a total downer.
