It had been a couple of months, since Jaden went into that bar and had that conversation with Elanna. It had also been several months since he had a conversation with a man who was facing problems similar to him, although his problem didn't deal with his girlfriend being pregnant. He had several people say he was going to be fine. Since that day, his nervousness of being a father melted away. Sure, he still felt a little nervous about it, but it wasn't as severe as before.

"Oh!" Oni said softly as she say on the bed inside one of Jaden's guest rooms.
"What is it?" Jaden asked, eyebrows shooting up in worry. It couldn't be time already! Could it?
"I felt it kick." she replied with a smile.

His heartbeat slowed. Stop being so paranoid, Jaden., he thought, the baby will come when it's ready. He let out a sigh and rubbed his eye. Oni gave a small laugh and got up from the bed, grabbing his hand.

"What-?" Jaden began, flustered.
"Come here, you." she said, leading him to the bed.

She crawled back on and motioned for him to follow. Jaden sat beside her, wondering what she was trying to do. Oni grabbed his hand again and put it on her extended belly.

"Wha-?" he said.
"Just wait a minute." Oni replied with a smile.

A couple of seconds passed and he felt a small thump against his hand. His eye widened and he smiled. For the first time in so long, he felt happy. This was his child. Oni was his. He was starting a family. Come Hell or high water, he was going to keep things like this: happy and free of worries.

Anyway, I saw this base and thought it perfect for these two. <3

Poor Jaden. Still so nervous about being a father that even the slightest noise from Oni makes him think that she's going into labor. XD Calm down man!
