Description
Before taking on the mantle of Bellona, Alessia was a legionnaire in the Imperial Army of the the New Roman Empire. While she may have been eager to serve the empire, she didn’t see much action during the early part of her career, save for the occasional border skirmish against the Italian Republic. For the most part, her unit spent most of their time running drills and training. However, Alessia would finally get her chance to show her mettle when a rebel group called the Liberatori d'Italia incited an insurrection on the island of Sicily. Not wanting to lose a valuable territory, the Emperor dispatched several battalions to Sicily to put down the rebellion before it could gain any strength, Alessia’s unit was among those chosen.
The rebellion only lasted for a few weeks, and while the Liberatori d’Italia fought hard, they were simply no match for the legionnaires. During the final skirmishes of the rebellion, Alessia was wounded from a gunshot to her side, but she still fought on until the rebels finally surrendered and the rebellion was put down. After that, she was awarded the Blue Criss medal for being wounded in battle, and the Star of Valor for her unwavering loyalty and bravery on the battlefield. Sadly, this would be the peak of Alessia’s career in the Imperial Army, as it was cut short when she was wrongfully discharged after reporting sexual harassment from a superior officer, who used his position and connections to have her removed. Though it may have been the end of her career as a legionnaire, she got her second chance when she was accepted into the Pantheon Program, and became Bellona. As a result, she was giving a unique rank that worked outside the normal chain of command. With this new authority, she quickly apprehended the corrupt officer, not out of revenge, but for the sake of justice and security. Impressed by her commitment, Ragno personally awarded Bellona with another medal, giving her a total of three medals. Despite her wrongful discharge, Alessia still feels a sense of pride and accomplishment when she wears her uniform, and refuses to wear uniforms that others feel would be more suitable for a woman of her status.
