Description
Measuring 70 x 100 cm, this is the biggest painting I've ever done. I started planning this when I suddenly wanted to draw the phoenix from the Moomins. Phoenix are often depicted very graceful and majestic, so I wanted to do something different. I tried to explore the theme of 'even the greatest beings can be struck down to the bottom'. To kind of message that really everyone has downfalls in life, not just some people. And what's important is that you always climb back up from there.Related content

I concur strongly with what you said in the description. And the outstanding painting you did up there perfectly symbolizes what it is like to be at an extremely low point in our lives, and to me, it looks as though the waterfall cascading down upon the phoenix represents our self-doubts that things will EVER start to look up ever again!
