In my AU, it's usually because Lightning despised the way her parents acted and raised her so she does all in her power to stop people like them.

And I've got a lot of questions: who stoled Snows heart? Serah? Was Moogle in 13-2 not only a bow and a sword but a keyblade too?

It wouldn't surprise me if the Moogle could turn into a Keyblade and Noel and Serah areΒ keyblade masters? How else could they use the gates to travel across time and space? Heh, lol yeah. Who stole Snow's heart snow's heart is the question...possibly a Fal'cie heartless or when Darkness overtook the dimensions or he could have given it to Serah which was released when she died...lots of possibilities there.
