Pareva che tutto il suo amore
fosse paragonabile alle mura di una casa decadente,
con lo stucco ingiallito che disegnava crepe ovunque sulle pareti,
fin quando
non si schiantava al suolo,
pezzo per pezzo.

Se ne stava lì, in attesa,
un poco fiduciosa,
rinunciando ad ogni pretenziosa riflessione..
Sapeva di non poter fare niente,
Non c'era che il tempo a scandire quei battiti nel silenzio della sua stanza, ora leggeri come il vento che sfoglia le pagine di un libro lasciato aperto, ora più decisi, come il rumore di castagne strappate dagli alberi da una tempesta autunnale.

Tonfi.

Il suo sentimento vacillava.
Pensò a tutto quello che le serviva adesso.

E si rese conto di non dover più aspettare niente.
