Illustrator CS - does ANYONE know how to get the colors to stay as the ones you pick, rather than ... changing into something else that's just a SLIGHT shade off?
Anyway... It's got a heart in it, so I guess this is my contribution for Valentines day. Kinda odd how the colors are so bright and the idea behind it ... isn't.
C+C would be nice
-- edit -- changed the color of the hair *cough* and made the clothes + shoes a bit "brighter".
-- edit again -- ok look, i'm aware that this image is a representation of a very "overused" concept - love and how hard it is to attain. i'm sorry if the image stepped on anyone's toes - ie, you think i took your concept and remade it. i didn't. love is a popular subject. what i did with the concept was to interpret and execute it in my own style, with my own version of it. let's be honest here. if you're going to note or flame me somewhere saying that i stole YOUR concept, you probably stole someone else's concept in order to make your version of it, too.

Hey if you use CMYK mode that's for print. And RGB mode is for online publishing.

OMG I love this! The girl is soo cute. The idea may be overused, but you made it seem fresh with this picture. I think everyone can identify with this picture, which makes it even more touching. That's the good thing about ideas like this, they allow you to almost always draw a connection with the viewer, which is the key to any artform. Very good, keep up the good work! *clap clap*

I know if you work in rgb mode in PS CS and then print it, the color are gonna change, cause printers don't have all the same colors as your monitor. So if you're gonna print them, you should make then in cmyk mode from the beginning... but i asume you already know that... do you? I wish I helped though. You know this is one of my favs...it's on my fav lists too...

Here's the encouraged advanced critique: is she standing, or tip-toeing, on a cloud? That's just odd. It looks like she's standing on something more solid. Perhaps I'm using too much logic. Also, this would seem to indicate that a taller person would be able to reach the heart just fine. So...size = love? Erm...or it's representing that we're all a bunch of children inside, and love is always out of reach. Until you become 30 or so. Then, if you're still single, someone becomes forced onto you right away.
Man, but staying single is even better to me.

i like the idea very much actually. im not sure if you've already recieved a reply regarding your color issues, but i believe it may be related to the CMYK and RGB color modes. i had the same problem once before as well. i hope this helps you out

i tried to read all the posts to see who said you ripped off their art, and i ended up seeing this big scary inked hand reaching for an equally scary inked heart. nicely done and all, but i cant really see how they can say you copied the idea. i mean come on, the little girl is about a thousand times cuter than a big hand.
i really really like this piece. it makes me think of some cute little chibi anime girl with big eyes bouncing to get the heart. like a cookie. except better.
i read the one post that said something about a little yellow chair. you should do another little side sketch about that, it would be awesome.
