If you're having trouble with the colour, I'd recommend going back to the function of the armor. Is it actual battle armor or something closer to ceremonial armor? Is this individual armor or standard military armor? For instance, Cy's armor is completely individual (pretty much pieced together) and meant for concealment and/or brief, non-lethal fighting.

It's ceremonial armor, which is why I'm having such a hard time. Basically, it's only to look pretty (and be somewhat intimidating to outsiders) at formal events held by a insect-like civilization. I like 1 the best visually, but 3 resembles the natural 'higher' colors of the civilization and 4 resembles the natural 'common' colors (ie, cockroach colors, surprise!). Â 2 was a suggestion from a friend and 5 was a throwback to when I wanted everything to be white and gold.Â
Essentially, my problem is that 1 isn't really tied into the civilization, but 3 is too busy because balancing six different colors is hard. I'll probably go back and work with 3 more later this week, hahaha
