This is Arlene Dickinson . If you’re Canadian, you might recognize her from the CBC tv show Dragon’s Den, she’s my favourite Dragon. Recently I got to see her do a talk, so beforehand I thought I’d make her some gift art. I actually got to hand it to her in person (before she got mobbed with fans)!
I did touch it up a bit from the original, I tweaked it to look a little more like her and tried to make the color of the scarf match the logo for YouInc , a company she founded to help entrepreneurs. Originally I was going to do a more realistic portrait, but many artists can do that! So instead I opted to try something more stylized.
Arlene is a real role model for entrepreneurs everywhere, but I definitely connect with her as a Canadian female entrepreneur. She’s strong, smart, has a big heart and a beauty that shines through when she shares her passion for entrepreneurship. She’s a real treasure.
