Well, my uncle used to have Vista before he changed it to Windows 8. What is so bad about Vista? (I myself have Windows 7)

When I got my computer formatted, I spent the first few days after it googling how to make my Windows 7 look like Vista, and to replace new MS Paint with the one I had back then...

Well, whats wrong with VISTA:
What pro have to say:
Vista restrict what you can do on your own PC plus it's enforce DRM
-They decide which programs you can and can't use on your computer
-They decide which features of your computer or software you can use at any given moment
-They force you to install new programs even when you don't want to (and, of course, pay for the privilege)
-They restrict your access to certain programs and even to your own data files
plus you don't own it even if you buy it
from: [link]

-security
-user account control
-drivers
-memory protection
-bad and unfriendly user interface
-etc

What I have to say:
even more vista allocates 15% of your hard drive for some restore things,
and it's very big it's required 20GB-40GB. But how can it be if linux can do everything what windows can
and it's not bigger than a 5GB. It's also very slow in comparison to XP, Linux or Mac. It's unstable.

My vista doesn't do that.

Well, I've never had any of those problems. I can run all of my programs just fine and I used to have a XP and I'd say Vista runs faster. As for Mac, I've had more problems with those computers than I had with anything namely them freezing up frequently while I'm in Photoshop.
Maybe you're thinking of the Vista laptops. Some of those have been having problems with them overheating and breaking down but they recalled them. And even so, the Vista laptops after it don't have any problems. My sister's for example works fine and dandy. No problems with files or bad inferface or anything. And my Vista desktop which I've had for years now I've only really had problems with programs not responding, but it's not like I haven't gotten those problems with Mac a ton of times, too.

Anyway, I suppose it's all preference, really. I still love my Vista.

I think 90% of the users don't use even 5% of OS capabilities.
Some people don't even know how to change their keyboard preferences and languages in windows or don't know that a Control Panel exists and stuff like that. So I think for those users vista is pretty good. I had a few such friends and they tried explain to me how good VISTA is (and they didn't even know some simple windows functions) and that is just funny
Believe me even Microsoft agree that VISTA was a mistake, thats why they made Windows 7 so quickly and replaced VISTA.

I don't want to say you what you must use it's your own choice

Well to go with what Wildrune11 said, and answering this question. Out of all Window computers, Vista is the most unstablest of them all, while Microsoft kept it around for that reason to make money.

Example of that is, when Microsoft first released Vista in 2004 along with Macintosh releasing Leopard in the same year, BOTH Computers suffered the WORST of problems, so Microsoft told all their users who spent almost 1,000USD to go send the computer back for 1/3 refund, then told to wait a few months to buy a NEW set of Vista for a little more than a 1,000USD, wasting normal peoples money to line MS pockets. Though with Mac's bad OS that year(cost about 1,000USD), they told their customers to keep their bad copies, but to buy a support program for about 8-10USD.

Though that is one of Many reasons not to uses Vista. Another reason, is for you to add different colors(Silver, Blue, Back, Green, Orange, and red) to the task bar, you had to download them from MS third parties, with nothing more than a warning saying "Attention Although this party works with Microsoft, Microsoft will share no responsibility for what may happen to your computer and/or your privacy", which is creepy, because they don't even reveal the names of the third party groups you agreed to.

I just think this stamp isn't properly worded. It should be something like "Vista Sucks" because it expresses an opinion rather than telling people that they aren't allowed to use it. Are the computer police going to come after me if I do use Vista? XD

Sendo-Eevpix In reply to Algandars [2011-05-22 20:18:59 +0000 UTC]

Hehe Well no. Though this Stamp gets to the direct point of how many people feels when it comes to them hearing that someone still uses Vista.

Not everyone has the money to go out and buy a new computer. I don't have a personal laptop yet, but I'll be getting a Windows 7 as a graduation present because it's the newest version. My sisters got Vista computers when they graduated because it was the newest version there was back then.

Who says you need money for a new computer?

You can Get a Google, Linux, Unix, Or even a Fedora Computer for FREE.

Also, it's so vulnerable to viruses and malware. And since it's closed source, you have no idea what's actually going on in your system. Microsoft could be looking at all your stuff. What's more, it means that it takes forever for bugs to be fixed

Vista is really bad. You probably won't realize until you use something like Linux

Friesles In reply to miontre [2011-05-14 09:10:59 +0000 UTC]

I dont actually have that laptop anymore, got a new one with Win 7. it's a lot better. I've never had Linux or Mac or anything like that so i cant really compare it to others though

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Sendo-Eevpix In reply to Friesles [2011-05-16 13:41:43 +0000 UTC]

Well you can compare Linux. Go to [link] and burn a copy for free of Ubuntu to a disk, then turn your computer off and put the disk in before you turn the computer on, and the disk will ask if you want to try Linux before install, which is safe, because you will be using a Live disk, so you won't be downloading the computer, you will just use it like you were a computer game.
