Comments: First, everything u see here is my creation, so it took a whole lots of time.. It's the most I spent on one graphic.
This piece shows how the modern world is taking over the culture, and how this woman who represents the ancient world is suffering because she is slowly dying...
It's a slow evolution, because I already made another two before this, check them on this [link] & [link] If you notice, everyone is more updated and "taken over" than the previous one.

6 hours is really quick for making a manip.. or to me it is. I'm really impressed with your techno-grunge work.. keep it up!

the thing is that, what takes most of my time, is the idea of the graphic, not the technique.. I mean, if i work in between 8 hours, at least 2 of them are just for the idea, and to think what to add here and there, and all the small details..
but in this case, this is part III, if u noticed, so i had two done before her, just almost the same.. that's why the ideas were all in my head, and i just had to put them on paper

Yep I saw the series.. what impresses me is that you painted a lot of her body and the techno parts in her arms and limbs, cause i've seen the original stocks before.. and her stockphotos are used a lot over dA too so its fantastic that you could create something different and original from them.

Those kinds of comments never get anyone anywhere. Its difficult to break away from what is popular and do something different, and dA offers people a place to showcase this "deviousness". Then again it has its own cliches and fads in the end we're not quite as original as we think anymore.
Its like no matter how many different contexts ive used in my manips i'm still restrained to the genre of dark art and i'm still making manipulations, but i cant help it. It shouldnt bother you though, there will be people who like your art and people who dont. Keep it up and do what you're best at

well, a magician never shows his secrets
but i will tell you that i read a tutorial about them a long time ago, and memoriezed it... and u need to blend it well with the head metals and stuff....
but basically, tutorials and lots or practice...
also, u have to be careful to play around with the shadows, to give it a good effect, a 3D realiztic.... because if u leave it with toning and constrart, it will look really bad...
