Description In this alternate timeline, Stalin's 5 year plan was less costly and his great purge was far less deadly and more responsible. Thus when WWII struck out, Stalin was able to conquer parts of Europe with his revitalized army, reaching as far as Luxembourg where US and British forces were closely stationed.

Fearing his plans of European conquest, the allies launched Operation: Unthinkable to defeat the Soviets, only to be instantly met with cries of protest and mutiny back home. The allies were forced to call of the invasion into two months of fighting, allowing the Soviets all the while to claim Denmark.

In the Asian front the United States attempted to use nukes to deny Stalin entry into Japan, but in this timeline it had the opposite effect. The nuclear bombs were instantly capitalized as a human rights violation and America was forced to pull out of Asia to fend off protests back home. Same with AnZac forces in the pacific as well. Asia was Stalin's to take.

Stalin managed to threaten Japan into surrendering after his offences in Manchuria paved his way for a possible invasion of Tokyo. The Emperor resigned and a Japanese puppet government formed. As for Korea, without any major allies to share the former Japanese colony with, Stalin took it all for its own.

The Kim Jong family in this timeline did not fully rise to prominence, with Stalin instead turning to support Pak Hon-Young, leader of the Communists active in Southern Korea. Without America in the picture, Stalin launched the creation of a Soviet controlled Communist Korea, which would never know the divisions between North and South as in this timeline.

The Koreans in this timeline still have a shaky relationship with the Japanese, who they still see as imperialists for maintaining their powerful navy close to Korean territory. The Koreans don't get along too well with China either, competing for economic control in Asia as all three are essentially tied in production, the economy and scientific advance. For a long time, it would take personal USSR intervention to end squabbling in East Asia, until the Soviets decided that this rivalry would be used as an excuse for each of the three countries to industrialize.

The Korean People's Federation is somewhat of a mix between the two divided ones in our timeline, being an economic powerhouse like the South, but also highly militaristic and nationalistic like the North (not to mentioned ruled by a single communist party). While the Kims never gain power, ruling Korean party still calls the shots much like China's in our timeline. The capital is Seoul, vibrant as ever, but with heavy communist imagery and propaganda similar to what you'd see in the North today.

The flag is a DPRK flag with the pre war South Korea emblem and inverted red and blue colors. I am not too sure about the four stars however.
