Description Date: 21/10/2196
Location: SCI Water Filtration Facility, Tarsus Quarter, Mars

The neon lights were casting their blue light, illuminating the empty corridors, while, a recurrent clamorous noise, like a huge turbine rotating, was echoing from underneath the floor, indicating that the facility was still operational. According to intel, the facility was long abandoned by the SCI, and judging from the exterior, it did look like it was. There was no clear denotion of use, no personel moving around while all machinery was powered down, causing an eerie silence upon the place. However, delving deeper into the complex revealed that someone was still tampering with it, evidently trying to conceal its recent reactivation.

"This was supposed to be a quick salvage operation.", Henrietta mattered as she walked carefully along the corridor, trying to stay out of sight. The loud turbine roar was concealing her footstep sounds, while the neon lights were leaving enough shadowy spots for her to blend in. Unfortunately, anyone else in the facility could also take advantage of these facts, hence she was moving on heightened alert.

Instinctively, she reached for her sidearm, ready for any possible contact, although, ever since she found evidence of the facility being inhabited, she hadn't made contact with any living soul yet. Stopping in a corner to catch her breath, she activated an overlayed map of the facility on her visor. Using simple mental commands, she traversed the map, in order to find her way deeper inside, looking for the mainframe computer complex.

She was following the instructions on the overlayed map, when she came to a stop, then quickly dodged behind a wall. She noticed a repeated, tap tap sound, which, even above the turbine's sound could be heard. Footsteps! No, it was way too loud to be human steps, it was like something large, made of metal, was walking over the steel floor.

"This is certainly alarming.", she said to herself as she took a peak at the approaching target. What she saw was a bipedal self-aware weapons platform, a mech used in military operations. Armed with a variety of advanced weaponry, including a rapid fire chaingun, that could kill her in a flash, but also heavy armaments which made it a weird choice for such an enclosed facility. Unless, its operator didn't want to take any chances, or was a lunatic. Clearly, she wasn't dealing with some random thieves or salvagers but it was something way bigger, maybe beyond her comprehension and understanding. "A military-issued patrol mech? These guys have some interesting toys", she noted half-jokingly, dreaming of acquiring one of these babies on her own.

According to her map, in order to get to the central computer room, she'd had to pass through the mech. She let out a deep sigh as she contemplated the inevitable confrontation.

"The facility is abandoned, it's a very simple job, he said.", she noted, as she prepared herself, cursing her 'source' for his outdated information. "Well, I guess you can't judge a book by its cover.", she added, then she leaped out of cover....

Thank you for the favs and comments! I'm always open to advice on how to improve my renders.

Technical:
This is the most complex scene I've ever done, there are 5 light groups, 2 characters (Mech and V4) and a complex prop background. I think it turned out very well!
DAZ Studio 4.6 -> Reality 2.0 -> Lux Render 1.3.1  No Postwork on this one!

This looks really good. Isn't her weaponry a bit undersized for the mech? I hope she'll make it

I guess, never judge a weapon by its size!

Well, there is some truth about it, but I prefer the bigger ones

That doesn't mean you need a bigger gun
