Description I put this under the conceptual designation for a reason...

Just think,
When you stand on the Wizards island you are within the heart of the Volcano that once stood there.
This did not happen that long ago, perhaps 6,800 years ago. The natives of the area have the lake as a prominent point of interest. It was a place of Gods.
The stories tell of young men walking along the bottom of the caldara, before it had filled with water.

During those times, the Hot spot was still active.
The volcano still refused to die.
It formed Wizards island.
A volcano within a volcano.

A place that remembers what it was, standing in the crater of Wisards island I felt an incredible memory, the power of so much fire. During that explosion, 12 Cubic MILES.. of Magma was ejected to the surface, this was a very large change in the surface of the earth, one of the largest in the past 10,000 years.

To stand where the earths lifeblood flowed is an interesting feeling if you are open to it.
It makes me think of Mt Doom
What if we did forget some important things as the saying goes, when history becomes ledgends, and then becomes myth and eventually even myth fades to obscurity.
10,000 years is not a long time for the earth, it is however a long time for us.

So yeah... Even if you are not into magic, energy flows, and other such nonsense like I am you can still feel it.
Especially if you just think of what happened there not so long ago.

No worries I am not surprised As I said it is a place of power, the veil between here and the dreaming is quite thin there. I would recommend going to visit some day, it will be worth it.

yeah...that would be nice...but doubt it will happen...well thanks for not thinking I'm a nut. But I do believe in Magic or Magick how ever you want to spell it.

it looks from here like a good place to build an unassailable fortress to ward off the visigoths.
