So this shows that Sombra DID have something to do with Nightmare Moon!
If he can be that evil, and turn the crystal ponies all depressed and stuff, then he can probably do the same thing to Luna. Basically what I'm saying is: when in doubt, blame Sombra.

All I see it as is a mystery waiting to be discover like in the show who are the alicorns that did seal away sombra because celesta never said that she was 1 of them and we saw 2 alicorns silhouettes. My question is who are the 2 alicorns responsible for it and where did they go after wards?

In the show it said that is was sealed away for a thousand years. Since luna was back before that empire, it means that luna was sealed away before the empire.
