Another statue at the airport, this one spoke to me with a bit more of a feminine vibe. Heels, clearly meant to make us think of a traveling woman, a hot box surrounded by luggage almost looks like a vanity. It makes me think of the brave women who came here to Alaska in its earlier history. What bustling metropolis did they come from, and what must they have thought, seeing this alien and hostile world when they arrived?
