"Knowledge is power, but power is nothing without purpose. You may hold in your hand the power to remake all things, but if you do not know what you would change, then you hold nothing at all."

"Ask me, Child. Which knowledge does your heart seek? Ask Me, for I have seen you and my Eye sees unknown Words. Let us work wonders together, Adelein, Knower of Secrets." (Hermaeus Mora)

Intuitively she knows and but only asks what her mind can fathom. Disconnection from humanity comes from her purpose at birth, where the one before her failed- she will understand. Ultimately, from the lord of knowledge, she asks nothing, wants nothing for herself. Only to act as a tool, and feel satisfaction for seeing what others can not.

Out of all Daedra, he is the most dangerous. Not because of his power, no his danger is far worse but more rewarding. He danger is his willingness to want and offer a little, but make you want a lot. His books are a curse as they are also a blessing. Praise the Daedra of what is, what will be, what was, and what isn't. For true knowledge has no bounds.

Knowledge cast aside out of fear, is casting aside the truth of mortal's own existence. Sometimes its easy to see why he is The Gardener of Man.

Hermaeus Mora gives all knowledge freely, but always disregarding that its indecipherable to most mortals. The secret of brewing a perfect cup of tea can be interpreted with nearly infinite possibilities.
If one was able to interpret this knowledge, another variable appears, altering the answer as it is solved.
Only a being that exists in the past, present, and future can master this ability.

.... excellent answer, but he only has access to knowledge that has ultimately been collected from sentient beings, so one can still hypothetically obtain unsurpassed mastery in the constantly progressing present through constant dauntless study no? if you cant have the infinite perfection of tea, one can still settle for a freaking amazing super awesome skills at tea right now.
Priorities!

My headcannon is that Hermaeus Mora is totally a Lovecraftian horror that made his way into the The Elder Scrolls universe. Both things I love a lot haha.
