Wow, this is marvelous!
It has a kind of an Arabian Nights feel to it, but the twist is that it is the King/Lord/Thane who's narrating the Tales, and it is the beautiful maiden (and bodyguard) who's chronicling them for posterity. The wistful look on her face is as if she's trying to imagine the magnificent tale he's narrating and getting lost in that exciting and dangerous world. And do I sense an undercurrent of romance between them?
Nice work with the gargoyle/angel, and the frescoes on the window (a window to the past?), the long parchment/paper, the awesome clothing design (but her greaves/stockings is jarring, IMHO, as she wouldn't be exposing or sitting like that, if she was a chronicler or a bodyguard) and of course, the dragons and mountains!
