I know this is late haha but I have to answer this! Hopefully you still care haha.

 -- its a concept of feeling like you're drowning but having all the potential in the world to fly. Being on top of the world but feeling unsatisfied. Like theres something more to do or experience. 

The bottom half is the air (yet this is where the robot is drowning) the upper half is the water (yet this is where he's trying to breathe) 

Sometimes we get into routine and feel stuck. We robotically do the same things that lead us to the same results and we can't seem to break free. We breathe water. And then when change comes, when change forces us to become better we resist. We fight. We fear. We feel like a fish out of water ("drowning" in air) yet it is this process that causes us to grow. To become better.

I hope that makes sense.

Part of me thinks this explanations very tragic but still very beautiful
