I never got why she developed that mutation and couldn't keep it going for longer periods for of time. Though then again, I geuss it would only make seance to use it as a one time only plot mechanic. Haven't finnished the whole thing yet. Still about 30-40 chapters in and... I lost my place.... Darn it not again....

Yeah. This was me flailing around trying to find a way to make Blackjack 'different'. In FO3 one of the first things that you do in Megaton is get severe radiation poisoning to write a survival guide. If you get severe enough radiation poisoning, you get a minor mutation. Her eyes were supposed to be that. Then, over time she'd get other mutations. Unfortunately, those tended to be bad ones. Blackjack is really elastic in her being, changing from a healthy mare to one body after the next, losing more and more of herself in the struggle. Eventually, she loses everything.
