Yes, you read that right. Not Evangelion Mark.06, Evangelion UNIT-06. Allow me to explain:

First off, this is an AU version of Mark-06, which will be eventually/hopefully featured in my AU NGE quest, Messenger of the New Century, on Spacebattles.
Second, now you get the 'history' of this unit.

Evangelion Experimental Model Production/Field-Type Unit-06 was created for a very specific purpose; to address the 5 minute battery time limit. While most Evangelions had to run off an umbilical for power, Unit-06 was Canada's attempt to remove that need, without needing heavy battery packs to function. Unlike most Evas, Unit-06 was powered by a compact hydrogen fuel cell that replaced its umbilical port. This fuel cell allowed the Eva to function for up to 6 hours in an energy-intensive environment (like fighting), or up to 18 hours of non-strenuous activity.

The only downside was that Unit-06's cell produced an extreme amount of heat; any normal Evangelion would overheat within half an hour of activation! Unit-06, however, was built to use the cell to its full potential. The Eva's pylons- knee, elbow, and shoulder- were all modified to function as both heat radiators and coolant storage tanks, helping to keep the Eva cooled during operation times. The torso was elongated, a new section storing extra coolant, should a pylon be damaged and unable to function. The final modification was to the Eva's thighs, attaching specialized pods that would be able to function as storage areas for anything other Evas would use their pylons for- knives, pistols, ammo, even spike launchers and laser targeting arrays!

Unit-06 has- as of October 2015- undergone two activation tests, and numerous simulations. However, after the last one proved disastrous, Canada's test pilot lost their life. Now without anyone to control the mighty cyborg, NERV-C has turned to the American branch- NERV-02- in search of a new pilot for their war machine's third, and final test.
