just this summer i started reading up on all these adorable little helpmates........amazing how MANY the US has!!! this is a pretty little one...love the colors!

They do us a big favor by eating aphids--and there are so many colors! Even though we mostly think of red ones.

oh i know!!! i'm going to 'import' a batch this next summer for my garden...i had a couple neat colors this last year but i still had icky bugs that needed 'eaten'.......lol

These have to be my favorite ladybugs. They're just so different from the usual red ones.
We sometimes call them rock beetles because of their color.

That's gotta be some kind of good luck on your part to have found a white ladybug, I bet! :3 I know lady bugs in your house or crickets in your house are considered good luck, so finding a white one has gotta be twice as lucky!

I hope so-I need all the luck I can get right now..are deer mice in the house lucky? I suppose not since my cat is going nuts right now trying to catch it. (keeping in mind my cat is terrified of mice-LOL!)

Alot of people hate ladybugs because they invade houses in Fall and make a terrible and sometimes smelly mess-but those are the Asian Multi-colored Ladybugs..an imported, invasive, annoying-yet somewhat beneficial species. (not to mention the only Ladybugs I know of that bite hard enough to for you to feel a pitch)
The 15 Spotted is not like that at all and a much less common native species.
