an illustration I did for a Raivis-centered fanfiction: "Thriller"
don't know if it's gonna develop into Raivis/Ivan lol
if it happens, it'll probably become the one and only Raivis x Ivan fanfiction in this world =_,= (and the author would be my true hero)

This is a scene from the fanfiction where Ivan threw their crosses into the fireplace. Forgive my rough translation...the author used much more beautiful language than I could ever do.

Toris appeared to have no intention of writing any report, as he held his forehead to his cross again. Russia added some firewood to the fireplace, and then came back to wrestle the cross from Toris's hands. After he once again threw the cross into the fireplace, he grasped Toris's hands and tore his shirt open. In front of Toris's bare chest hung a beautiful wooden cross; Russia pulled the cross off of his neck, and stood up.

"Hand me all your crosses," Russia scanned over the other two in the room. "Comrade Toris. If you continue to hide such things in my house, then I swear...I will make you the Christ on your cross."

Latvia took the cross off of his neck. The thick smell of blood grew stronger around him. Russia came down in front of him. Blood from the wound on his forehead dripped onto Raivis shoulders; red and red fused immediately.

"Do you want to learn from Comrade Toris?" Ivan stared at him. Blood gushed from his nose, mouth, and the ferocious scar on his head, turning the entire room into Raivis's favorite red.

"But I don't have Christ on my cross."

This is a very funny part in the story, with very witty religious remarks lol
Liet is Catholic, so he has Christ on his cross, while Raivis and Edward are Lutheran, and the don't have Christ on their crosses.
this is so far the best writing on Raivis's personality I've seen. Everyone knows about his timid side, but don't forget, he has the ability to say some amazing stuff that would piss off Russia pretty badly...rarely is there any fanworks that shows this side of Lativa

about that little shota in the picture...ehh...it's not really Ivan; the author left is a mystery
In the story the Baltics made a bet on who that little boy was (Toris said Ivan, Edward said Raivis, and Raivis said neither), and Raivis won.
Unfortunately he told Ivan (KY)
and you know what's gambling in the Soviet (kol kol kol)
