Since no one caught my 40,000 pageview (except myself. lmfao), I decided to do Astrid/Ruffnut for her.
It was either this pairing or Vanille/Fang...but I've always wanted to draw these two.
In regards to Hiccup/Astrid, I honestly found Astrid's feelings for Hiccup too unbelievable.
Ok. She disliked him...BAM! She finds out that he can ride a dragon...and now she likes him? Really? They found it so necessary to put romance in this movie?
I'm all for heterosexual romance but I dislike any canon pairings that are too unbelievable.
PS: I was too entranced by the movie but where exactly are their cute interactions with one another?
I've always been curious how this pairing came into being.

I don't think there's any interaction at all between them in the movie, their just both really cute = slash them.
I thought Hiccup/Astrid was pretty sweet when I watched it, just cos they like each other doesn't mean it's the 'most epic romance ever omg' so I actually enjoyed their relationship even though I only watched the film because I'd seen Astrid/Ruffnut fanart.

Oh... this movie. This was "Asterix and the Vikings", right? It was perty dang funny for a while, but the just randomly-inserted romance between these two characters was just ridiculous, and so utterly unnecessary. Nice picture, though.

My apologies Setsuna, I got it mixed up with another movie, set in a somewhat similar time period, with an equally trite romance subplot. Had to watch it for Latin Class, you see. >_>

MOVING ON, How to Train Your Dragon. Ok, as awkward as this is going to sound, I still agree with you. Although in my opinion the movie itself was full of filler, the romance between the two characters just pops out of nowhere, and feels like an executive mandate more than anything else. With almost no character development, and with Astrid having a rather negative attitude towards Hiccup at first, and then by the end suddenly falling in love for no adequately explained reason, other than that "The Script Says So".
Yeah, I was not a fan of this film. But hey, it had Gerard Butler and Craig Ferguson! And it's always nice to see the two of them getting work!
So, epicfail aside, I think the point that I was trying to get at, is great picture, really cute, fav'd. Fantastic job. ^_^;
