When you do the skin shading, do you do it with the wand tool or freehand? Also, when you color, do you have separate layers for each part of the picture?

is it OK if we use this image to practice? Like, coloring the lineart to see if the end result looks like yours?

Very beautiful linework. Very clean and fluid. How long does it take to do a character,(concept, linework, coloring)?

setsuna22 In reply to eturnl [2008-11-15 04:25:41 +0000 UTC]
Uh I dont know, it depens what kind of character I am making. For the Maledonna girls, for example, I first went and researched as much as I could and I probably spent a solid week on that alone. During that process, I usually have a pretty good idea of what I want to include in their design. After that point it takes me about 8 hours from start to finish

For the blush, where is the rounded gradient tool? I'm having the hardest time finding that one...((can only find linear gradient tool))

setsuna22 In reply to Shennten [2008-09-02 22:49:04 +0000 UTC]
you open up the linear gradient tool and on the top of the screen is the option for the round gradient

hmmmm... see, I guess I havent figured out how multi layers work and all that layer stuf is like. If I can figure that out or know what tool or setting i have to use I would def practice it and and experiment till something gave. But, I def looked at your tutorial and it helps. There are some things here and there I dont get like the layer stuff.

This is really helpful! Do you just draw your lineart straight onto the computer? or do you scan it?
