- He'd be someone who goes along a mountain pass, lighting up all the magic lanterns that line it as well as those in any shrines or temples. But for some reason, they all keep going out by the time he returns to them... why is it that every lantern he lights goes out so soon?

Would love to use him a librarians assistant with his own best friend/co-worker being a blind lorekeeper named slug! I think I would name this cutie Kuno or Kano? Something pretty to go with his pretty attitude! edit: he would be the librarys gatekeeper as the library holds a lot of fancy and really old magic books, he would keep the place safe it was to be attacked.

~Story Idea: He has been a servant of an old royal family for generations. Tasked with being the guardian of an ancient family heirloom that is said to be the key to prosperity and power for the family. If anything should happen to said relic it would certainly spell death and destruction for the royal family. As such no one bothers the protector of the heirloom, but all know he is there. He is given a good life, books to read, food to eat, but he is more often than not alone. That is until the children come to visit him. The royal children are always curious of the gatekeeper. They often come to visit in secret to listen to his stories or to play. The gatekeepers one weakness is his playful and joking demeanor that the children adore. Usually their visits mean nothing more than entertainment for the gatekeeper and the children before they grow older and have more important things to do. This is how it goes for years until one prince who is more curious and determined than the rest. The prince is fascinated by the gatekeeper and the gatekeeper is entertained by the clever child. And rather than visiting for a story and being on his way the prince comes to visit often and not always seeking a story. Instead it seems he is just like the gatekeeper and simply longs for some good company. Over the years their bond secretly grows. Until the prince older and set to be the next ruler of the family realizes that he loves the gatekeeper and has for a long time. Will their love be enough to pull the gatekeeper from his sacred duty? And if he does will it mean death to his beloved and his family? Or would death be a lesser agony than loving each other but having to live apart? (Some ideas so far...nothing set in stone though).
